During COVID, SMART developed a series of live-streaming video classes to replace our in-person programming held at the East Harlem Neighborhood Health Action Center. We are continuing our virtual programs for now, with the addition of special hybrid events to compliment our on-line class curriculum. We hope you will join our online community on Facebook for weekly SMART Live! Culinary Workshops every Thursday at 11am, and SMART Tech Talks every Tuesday at 12:30pm. All are welcome! Please subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up to date!

We are also offering SMART University classes presented by our community partners via Zoom. Check here for the latest class schedule.

SMART Live! Culinary Workshops

Be part of our SMART online community every Thursday on Facebook as SMART Culinary Instructors Arielle Kestenbaum, MS, RD, CDN & Executive Director at Fare Meals, and Sam Clare, SMART Director of Operations, lead viewers in step-by-step healthy cooking demonstrations! Learn about nutrition and safe kitchen practices! Join us in real time to write your observations and ask questions in the comments, and our instructors will make time to provide answers. If you can’t be with us on Thursdays, you can view the videos below. Check back often for new recipes!

SMART Live! Tech Talks

Do you want to learn how to be more tech savvy? Every Monday at 11 am on Facebook live, join the SMART community and Technology Instructor Frances Wood to learn how to use your phone or computer to maintain connections with family and friends, access essential services, and participate in other SMART virtual events! No prior technology experience is required, and your questions will be answered in real time during class. If you can’t join us on Mondays, you can watch the videos below, or, if you are a SMART Live! participant, review videos of past lessons.

SMART Live! University

SMART University is our signature treatment, prevention, and health education series that addresses the physical, psychological, and social needs of self-identified women living with or affected by HIV and/or other chronic illnesses that disparately affect residents of under-served neighborhoods such as East Harlem. We are currently offering Zoom classes presented by our community partners. Check here for the latest class schedule.
